Physiotherapy

 Is physiotherapy right for me?

Physiotherapists treat all sorts of problems including:

  • Lower back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Sports Injuries eg  knee injuries in runners, ligament injuries
  • Posture-related symptoms caused by sitting at a desk for up to eight hours a day eg neck tension, Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI)
  • Joint problems (eg arthritis, cartilage damage)
  • Tension headaches
  • Muscle imbalance

The treatment will vary according to your symptoms, and may include deep tissue massage, sports massage, gentle movements of the affected joints, stretching and/or strengthening exercises, electrotherapy (eg ultrasound) or any combination of the above.

You will be given a diagnosis (ie we will tell you what the problem is), a prognosis (approximately how long it will take to improve) and we will then discuss a treatment plan, including advice or exercises to help with your progress. We will also tell you how many treatments we think you will need. Very often for things like sports injuries one treatment plus advice (and exercises if appropriate) will be all you need.

If you're not sure whether physiotherapy is right for you, give us a call and we will be happy to advise.

On the few occasions that we do not think physiotherapy will help we will put you in touch with another Health Professional who can.

Physiotherapy sessions last up to 45 minutes and cost £40.
